|
|
No I'm not trying to revive the "Google Earth Game" thread, I just have one question. After that people can post whatever trivia questions they want (or not).
My question (for those who know how to use Google Earth properly):
Who/what is at
4 (degrees) 10' (minutes) and 57.23" (seconds) N(orth)
by
73 (degrees) 30' 2.25" E

Bingo! (i wish )
Look closer (mistaking it for a cruise ship is an honest mistake easy to do given its size).
hint: this is something we've all heard about in the news recently... |

No, it's not. But it is a name we all recognize, every single one of us. |

Hey Hey, we have a winner!
I came across one of the umpteen bazillion stories on this the other day which had an intriguing factoid-
they were honeymooning on a yacht which was a former ice-breaker, the "Arctic P" ownd by a Sydney mogul (P for Packer?).
Anyway, from a naval engineering perspective this is a somewhat unique and bizarre use for an ice-breaker- for reasons I don't want to get into right now-
but it got me wanting to see a picture of the "yacht", so punched it in to Google images and got the pic above.
And that pic got me thinking that it's of a pretty unique shape and size for a yacht, so I thought...
what are the chances Google Earth has up to date pics of Male, Maldives?
If so, and if this is moored in the bay (according to some reports "at an undisclosed location") off of Male, what are the chances I could actually find it?
Ain't technology great?
P.S. I wonder why they didn't go on the Scientology yacht?
Anyone got some other trivia-type question?

And the boat photo is a hint? It's ArcP.jpg.
Association of Residential Cleaning Professionals?
Annual Review of Critical Psychology?
Yes, my detective work has taken me too deep.
How does Sydney fit in? (if indeed I'm on the right track)
edit: oops. You answered as I had more questions.
Thanks!! |

Yessir. As usual, you covered everything.
Is that truly current, though? Images of Mom's house and my neighborhood in Suwon are over two years old.
Nice association on your part made for an interesting search.
I won't come up with better than, "What's the name of my favorite fishing hole 30 years ago?" |
