I asked about one of the local universities (I won't mention the name) that is hiring. I know a guy who worked there and wondered what he thought of the place.
After his stellar recommendations, I am wondering if another haggie wouldn't be better. After all, at least they provide housing and I wouldn't have to run about to classes here and there.
He described it as the title of this post suggests....hmm.
Thoughts welcome.

Even the crappiest uni looks better on your CV than another hagwon. If you want to move up in the world...
1) Work at crappy uni for a year.
2) Move to a less crappy uni
3) claw your way up. |

The university is in one of Korea's larger cities (not Seoul).
The guy didn't really say a lot, but he said that some teachers complained of having to travel across town to teach at a hagwan connected to the university.
According to their ad, they pay a grand total of 10,000 - 24,000 per hour for overtime classes. That usually means the bottom end of the scale, so from this I can deduce that they would expect me to travel across town to teach at a crappy kid's hagwan for 10,000 won an hour....yuk. |

| Just name the school. That's what a board is for. Save someone else the trouble of bothering to apply. We've slammed pleanty of crap schools and programs. No worries. |

Without the name of the school (or even the name of the CITY) this entire thread is useless.
What was your point in starting it? It certainly wasn't to warn people away from this place (wherever it is). |

Yeah, the beautiful thing about this board is the anonimity.
Why not spill the beans about the university. Maybe someone who actually works there will respond and give you the lowdown on how it really is. |

I'm pretty sure that Dong-a is incorrect, but you're getting pretty close. |

Hmm, maybe.
Don = Dong (kind of)
saw = seo (sort of)
