| Im getting very frustrated here. do my chances imporve if i just head on over there and start looking for jobs? I have somebody i can crash with initially to get my bearings. Do people do this? |

There is a lot of info about this in the stickies and the FAQs.
Yes, people do this, and you get to avoid recruiters a lot of the time, which is good. You can negotiate a better offer, see the school and your apartment. You may not get you airfare paid for, but then again, you may. If you have a place to stay for free, come here. Or start doing phone interviews through recruiters and come here to check out those places before you sign. |

| I just arrived tonight..have a place 2 stay though...and will do interviews for public next week...better this way |

dimnd, most public school jobs are going to start at the beginning of March. Are you trying to find one with an opening now, or are you going to wait until March to start working?
Many of the schools contract their initial hiring out to recruiters, like WorkNPlay and others. Check the names on the job ads and contact them for openings. |
