Bill Laswell is another artist with an extensive back catologue worth checking out. Some of his gear is a bit naff but there are some gems in there.
Dubby-ambient stuff. |

i'd def recommend the vikter Dupliex album Bold And Beautiful on bbe - this is quite recent and very relaxing with great production
the Dwele album Some Kinda is very chilled out r'n'b, also AJA - Strange Flower on Naked music is really nice
if you don't mind r'n'b you can't really go past the jill scott albums which other people have mentioned, also kem, alison crockett and julie dexter similar
house producer osunlade did an album this year aquarian moon which has a lot of world music influences and is good chill out stuff
Sabrina Malheiros cd Equiibria - latin but with more interesting/contemporary production than a lot of the genre
for electronic stuff - larry heard spec Ice Castles album |

| Mr Scruff - Come Alive, Jazz Potato, Chipmunk etc etc have a look for a track called Fish thats well funny! |
The track is called "Fish", it's the final track on the "Keep it Unreal" album.
Trout are fish and have...underwater weapons.
Trout are very valuable and...immensely powerful.
Keep away from the trout!
Amphibious nostrils. |
Thats the one, it makes me chuckle!
I expect you would like to know about Frogmen? Yeah!
They live on fish and catch them by diving on them from a great height
Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish..Easting fish, fish, fish, fish, fish
Think i'll use it in a class one day
Do the flying trout!!! |

| Harry Connick, Jr. 's "To See You" is a great album for relaxation. I also love Diana Krall's "Love Scenes" and anything by Norah Jones. |

I'll second these. I considered posting them myself.
If you like Scott Heren's stuff (Prefuse 73, Savath & Savalas) you might want to check out another project of his, Delarosa and Asora.
My recommendation for today:
Arve Henriksen "Chiaroscuro" 2004
An absolutely beautiful album from the founding member of Supersilent.
Highly recommended. |

Definitely! . . . K&D Sessions
I heard they did a performance in Seoul earlier this year (heard after fact, unfortunately.)
I've heard the music from K&D Sessions so many times as background music in movies, television. |

Classic favourites:
Sarah Vaughn
Billie Holiday
Ella Fitzgerald
Dinah Washington
Lena Horne
Anita Baker
For newer artists:
Holly Cole
Norah Jones
Diana Krall
Harry Connick Jr.
Other:
Any of the Buddha Bar mixes
Chopin's piano concertos (I have a very old copy that has thundershowers in the background)
Vivaldi's "Four Seasons"
(all of which, in my opinion, are best enjoyed if you dim the lights a little, light some candles and pour yourself a nice glass of red wine while cooking... ) |
