just called my mom's family -- mom, her boyfriend, grandparents, aunt & uncle, 2 cousins. had to say my hellos and miss yous.
my grandfather said "what a crystal clear connection!"
i said "yeah, isn't it great?"
he said "it sounds like you're right next door."
i said "it does!"
he said "i wish you were"
i thought "d'oh! walked right into that one." |

Gotta love the guilt trip eh?
I called last night around 1 am. It was pretty odd... this is the first time in nearly a decade that so much of my family was together for something other than a wedding. It was kinda funny being passed from one person to the next.
It made me a bit depressed to be missing out... but also pretty grateful when I stretched out in my own bed, knowing that 11 family members are squished into my parents' house. |
