|
Heres the sitch, Going to teach engrish in Seoul for your average contract job. Im wondering if any of ya'll have advice in getting private tutoring jobs on the side? A few questions come with that:
Is it common for english teachers to tutor on the side...is it legal?
How much does one usually charge for this?
Where does one conduct the tutoring sessions?
Currently, Im tutoring english here in Canada, so I feel confident that I will be able to hack it in Korea, just wondering if there is anything 'special' I should know.
Oh, and here is a real wrench thrown into the gears...My Girlfriend is coming 4 months after I begin teaching. Its not decided how long she will stay for, and that certainly depends on the answers to the following questions:
What are the chances of her getting some private tutoring jobs on the side...is it legal?
If not in that arena, then would it be possible to get a job elsewhere in Seoul? Might be a stupid question, but isnt there somewhere where a native english speaker can make some spending money?
She does not have a degree, she does not speak Korean, but she's bright!
Thanks for anything!
