Father of captured Israeli soldier visits wounded Palestinians Thu Nov 16, 2:34 PM ET



JERUSALEM (AFP) - The father of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, seized by armed Palestinian groups in June, on Thursday visited wounded Palestinians hit by artillery in the Jewish state's operation in Beit Hanun in the north of the Gaza Strip.

"Today I visited five wounded Palestinians being cared for at Ishilov hospital (in Tel Aviv) -- two children, of whom one is still in a coma, and three adults," Noam Shalit told AFP.

"They were all wounded by Israeli artillery firing" on November 8 in Beit Hanun in shelling which killed 19 Palestinian civilians and wounded around 60.
