So I was invited on a school trip this Saturday. Just some teachers and others, no kids. I thought great a relaxing day trip to the country side with some light Korean style hiking. 'You can sleep on the bus' I was told.

Why didn't my spider sense work, I should have known this was not a good idea. I turn up at 8am with a slight hang over but don't worry ED209 it's a 2 hour 30min bus ride just lie back and snooze. They'll wake you up when you get there.

Then it happened the on bus karaoke machine was fired up. Full volume. The beer and soju was opened and poured. Man it's not even 9am!. My head was pummelled with the bad Korean songs sung badly. When I got off the bus at the pit stop my head felt like it had been in a metal bucket which was whacked with golf clubs several times. Then back on the bus, no escape.

We visited a beautiful island, which was calm and relaxing. The weather was very kind that day.

Then back on the bus. Everyone must be tired now. So we can go back to sleep. No! More singing, and this time everyone is dancing, even the off duty police officers are going at it. Dancing on buses is illegal due to some Newtonian physics that these pissed up ajummas and ajushas were unaware of. As in, if this bus crashed 50 koreans would fly through the windscreen at 100 times their own weight.

Only one other teacher was annoyed as I am at this. But why do I get the people coming up to me and trying to feed me squid from their hands, I'm not a dog. Or share their dirty cup of soju, get it out of my face! I don't want any of these things any more than I want your *beep*, arse or elbows in my face. Which continued to go on with out apology. Just because you learnt my name doesn't make me your best friend, don't touch me or try to hold my hand! And don't get upset when I don't want to be part of your gang or be treated like a pet.

Please, please, personal space.

Rant over

Wow. Yeah, karaoke only works when you're drunk and involved. Trapped listening to (I would guess) offkey Korean karaoke with a hangover sounds like one of the lower rings of hades.

Still live and learn, right? Hungover? Don't leave bed.

Did I mention it was three and a half hours on the way back. Even more forced fun.
