No no no, lets all agree on everything, it would be much more interesting. |

Agreed.
It's hardcore taking the piss! .
But, crucially, the reason why it's so funny is because you KNOW all the hardcore Canucks will watch that and have veins popping out with rage. If I didn't live in Korea and hadn't met any Canadians, or read Daves, I wouldn't understand any of the references. |
Sorry. My apologies but as a hardcore Canuck I must say that was damn funny.
Never thought much about my 'accent' until last month when a Jewish girl from New York told me it was cute.
Although she became quite upset with me when I would not pronouce 'out and about' as 'oot and aboot'.
I apologized profusely to her.
Then I went to the mall (I was on a business trip to the States) and bought a couple of guns. |

A string of worn out cliches to music isn't all that funny. No more than just saying them.
Canadians hear that stuff all the time, so it's a bit trivial, even when put over a rockin' song. Haha...hoser, beer, bacon, hockey, snow, over-polite, passive, curling...meh.
Besides, Al seems to have taken the shallow end of the pool when it comes to the original song and ran with it. Political song made string of stereotypes. Al's a simpleton, me thinks. Then again, maybe most people got the same thing from Greenday's song? |

It's true. This song fails to match Weird Al's typical thinking man's comedy that was Like a Surgeon, or Eat It, or Amish Paradise, or My Bologna... |

| About the monopoly money... aren't American dollars coloured now? Never understood why Americans thought it was funny, much easier looking at the colour of the money rather than taking out your money and searching for what denomination it is. |

Canada is far from the only country with the common sense to have coloured money.
I would think that joke was on the Americans..... |

No Americans always make jokes about Canada's funny coloured money and yes I think every country I have traveled to has had coloured money. I think it is strange that American money is all the same colour. But then again not many Americans have been outside their country, Bush didn't get a passport until he became president. |

No, its because colored money is stupid. Green money just looks good, giants pile of foreign money in movies look like crap compared to suitcases of nice green hundreds. The rest of the world has to stop using so much change too. Dollar Euro coins, 2 dollar euro coins, crap all of it. Green paper bills for everything baby. |

Green money doesn't look good. You have just been raised with it so it seems more natural to you. Coloured money looks better. Add in the ease of finding the right denomination easily and it makes more sense.
For the coins, I know in Canada one of the major arguments was for blind people for the two dollar coin. Also, though less publicized as it doesn't garner as much public sympathy is the cost for the government. Coins last longer, obviously. |

I much prefer paper money. All the two and one dollar coin shit annoys me, although the argument that coins help blind people is fairly sound..
I also prefer the American dollar as an aesthetic/historical document to Canadian money. I do like the colour factor though... So practical.
Does this make me a bad Canadian? |

| the better for the blind argument doesn't carry much weight, because the paper money has braille on it anyway. For that matter, even the Korean paper money has something along those lines. ( that's what the very slightly raised brown dots are in the corner) |

I am sure it's still significantly easier to pick out a toonie or loonie from a bunch of bills, even though I am sure most blind people keep their bills well ordered. |

| I never worry about what kind of money it is when I stuff it under my mattress. Who cares about color? I am a blind black Jewish man. I just want my money in braille and hoarded under my mattress where I can protect it with my 9 mm. |

I have never once been in a foreign country and said to myself, "Man this different colored money is more convient." If you can't just look and see the big 1, 5, 20, 50, and 100s in the corners of our wonderful green money, your a knob. Green money is the way to be. I bet blind people who have never seen green money think its better. Its something you can feel in your gut, its truthiness. |
