I'd be interested to know your credentials (not neccesarily formal)?
I'd also like to know what techniques you are using and what theoretical or shamanistic traditions you are utilising?
Is this a brainwave thing or an spoken hypnosis one?
Are you willing and able to provide ongoing support to people who listen to this? From my own experience this sort of gear doesn't translate very well to the cultures most of us live in....there's a potential for people to freak out if it actually works.
Programming and/or metaprogramming can be serious stuff.

Sure. I have a PhD in Pastoral Counseling, and a Masters in Religion. I am also a certified hypnotherapist. The induction part of the script is theoretically Ericksonian, though Erickson never would have written a spirit guide script. It is spoken hypnosis, relying very heavily on imagery. I am willing and able to provide ongoing support, if a person needs it after undergoing the inital process. First meeting a spirit guide can be a jolting experience, not because the guide means harm, but simply because the energy frequencies vary so much from human to spirit (am I actually sounding stranger than RTeacher?).

Peace

Cool. Good to know you have some basis to what you are doing. I studied hypnosis theory for a bit at uni and wrote a paper on hypnotic hallucinations. As part of that I read a bit of Erickson's work and listened to some audio recordings and inductions done by Erickson himself. I've forgotten most of it but I do remember that I found his technique and the timbral qualities of his voice very conducive to encouraging these kind of states.

Are you using any hypnotic audio techniques in the production of this CD?

Good luck to anyone who does this.

The hypnotic process involves spiritual protection, so a channel should not be concerned with inviting darker entities.

I seem to have missed the boat on this discussion by several weeks, but nevertheless, I'm interested, so I hope you don't mind me bringing it up.

SU, I'm sure you'd agree that if you are going to give consent to some kind of entity to enter into an influential relationship with you, the most important thing is the spiritual protection, which, I guess, would be in part a clear understanding of your what exactly it is you are doing.

Could you go into this aspect more, in as much detail as you can? In particular, the nature of the spirit guide, the nature of the entites you would be protecting yourself against, the method of discrimination between the two, and the particular spiritual laws or mechanisms by which protection is afforded.

And one (or two) other things - what is the role of the hypnosis part in the process? Is it essential to the process, or just useful? Have you seen something similar before, or are you doing research into new territory?

Thanks

Also, if I may tack on a question:
What exactly IS a spirit guide? Is it a manifestation of one's own psyche? Such as a hidden part of the subconscious? Or, is it truly an outsider? If it is the latter, as I suspect you may very well answer, where does it come from?

When I was attuned to Reiki. My reiki teacher talked about my spirit guides and teachers. I was supposed to welcome them. Do you know anything about this?

From my own experience it has always seemed that things that could be defined as spirit guides appear to be external entities...That is until the tricks start.

While it is fun to take laughs at someone with odd beliefs, I would like to defend SU a little. Ifyou will, consider that 200 years ago, soap was considered unneded before surgery- hell germs were non existant. 100 years ago, the rights of all people being equal was scoffed at. 25 years ago, no one could have concieved of a phone being portable. 15 years ago, the idea of having a global information network connecting all people and thoughts, was unimaginable... I suppose what I'm saying is this: If one follows history, one quickly sees that 90% of what we once believed has been proven wrong, and if precent holds out (which all but the most arrogant would believe) then 90% of what we know now is utterly wrong. SU's ideas may not be mainstream, but perhaps they're closer to a truth unknown.

Red:

Actually, author Robert A. Heinlein predicted it in 1982 in his novel Friday.

Protection is important in the process of inviting spirit guides, and I certainly utilize protective measures in the hypno-meditation. I have emailed a few posters here the initial script, but I would like to re-work it a bit before I give it to any more people. There are low and high level spirits, what would most commonly be called demons and angels. At all times during the meditation, you have complete control over which type of guide you allow into your life, and the hypnotic technique is designed to invite only high level guides. My guide, Diana, is actually an alien being who has spiritually evolved to a very high level. There is a theology behind meeting your guides that has been given to me by Diana. I am in the process of writing a book on the whole technique, so I am a little hesitant to give out too many details presently. Suffice it to say that the spirit guide hypno-meditation I am in the process of developing is based on that theology, in which our individual guides are appointed by a benevolent Universal Spirit.

Hypnosis is simply useful - not required. It helps the subject relax, and allows the subconscious mind to take a more active role in meeting the spirit guide. As far as I know, this is pretty much new territory, but if you know of anything similar, I would love to know about it.

Peace

My attunement to Reiki is when I first met my spirit guide. She tehn proceeded to give me instructions on developing this hypnotic technique to help other people meet their guides.

A spirit guide is most definitely an external being, in spirit form. You have actually chosen your guide before your physical birth, but more than one guide may be interested in working with you. Spirit guides could have been previous humans on this earth, or previous physical beings from planets throughout the universes (yes, there are multiple universes, and spirit guides may travel among them all). All spirit guides are offspring of a Father and Mother God, who are actually the most evolved alien beings in all the universes.
