I was able to order confirmation of my marks from the uniersity web site. As stated here:

I have received a number of copies, however, they are just a single letter sheet with each individual module and the breakdown of my final marks. All 5 came in a single envelope,not sealed or anything.

The university don't provide these sealed transcripts. What do I do? Some job offers want to put me in Korea in the next 3 weeks, I need to send off documentation, plus I want to move quickly.

Do I admit to potential job people before I send the documents that they aren't sealed? I E mailed, gave them the link and said "This is the only thing the university provides" I asked at the end whether I should sent it and they replied saying "yes, yay oh yay" but then further down stated I needed sealed transcripts.

Any help please?

Job people don't matter. Immigration matters and they want em sealed.

Transcripts and Letters of Confirmation

Presently the University of Oxford does not supply official transcripts. However the Academic Office can provide a statement giving details of dates of attendance, degree course(s), examinations taken, marks achieved and degree class. This is normally accepted as sufficient evidence.

Ha, ha. Looks like Oxford graj'its ain't good nuf to teach Engrishee in Korea. Surprising this hasn't happened before what with all the Ivy League. Oxford, and Cambridge graduates here in Korea.


OP: Seriously, just put them in an envelope. Close envelope. Buy some embossed stickers with the university seal on them. Place over the flap. Purchase a cheap stamp that has a date. Stamp the back of the envelope over the sealed flap.

Voila! Immigration's happy. Your hogwan boss is happy (now that he can charge double for a real Oxford graduate). You can come to Korea and learn what it's like to be a "teacher."

Thank you my friend, this is exactly the kind of quick fix scheme I was hoping to be alerted to.

How rigorous will the immigration people be in their vetting? Do they ring the university directly or simply inspect the documentation and stamp it?

If it is possible to buy these stickers that you speak of then everything will be fine. I'll E mail the uni now.

I did a search for Oxford stickers and many results featuring fake degree sites came up. Would it be easier to buy a sealed transcript from these people? They say that they cover my university...... If immigration do ring Oxford though and discover there are no sealed transcripts though then everything will come undone if I do possess one, no matter how authentic it looks.

You have a lot to learn about the way Korean immigration works. They are perhaps the least competent, least logical group of bureaucrats EVER. If you asked three of them the same question, you'd get three different answers, each of which would make no sense.

They've got better things to do (work as slowly as humanly possible and obsessively text-message everyone they know) than to call up your university. How on earth would they ever find the phone number? These are NOT the kind of people who are going to seek out any kind of conversation that would have to be carried on in English.

Check at the campus bookstore for the stickers. If you can't get them, photoshop/copy & paste the school logo and print it out onto the front of the envelope. Seriously, I'm sure you're not the first to fake official transcripts from Oxford, and I'm sure you won't be the first to gain immigration's blessing. Just make it look official, but don't go to too much work. After all, you really did graduate from Oxford.

PS don't buy fake transcripts, just email them and ask how they do the envelope.

You could order a single copy and then don't open the envelope when you get it. -Jeff

just have someone else sign over the seal of the envelope. don't worry about stickers.
