Hi!
Has anyone had any experience with YES Youngdo? I'm considering a position with them. Any tips or hints?
Thanks!

There's lots of stuff on here if you try the "Search" function.

In general it sounds as if YES is less variable than other major hagwons, but the situation is still pretty different depending on the branch you go to.

If you are going to the new branch in Busan it just opened this month so there is little if any information on it.

I am currently debating whether to accept a contract starting on Dec 27th in Gangdong, Seoul. I'm getting 2.1 million won and the flat, area, and contract seem pretty decent. My only gripes are the fact that there are only 8 days paid vacation, long classes(2 or 3 hours), and cameras in all the classes. Also, I have just completed a CELTA TEFL so I was hoping I'd be getting paid a little bit more, although I don't have any other teachig experience. Other than these minor complaints I have heard mostly good reports. It is certainly the best position I have found in the Seoul area and I'm getting tired of trawling through jobs.

Hi,

I currently work for Yes in Bundang. I have no real issues with them. We always get paid ontime and the days go by very quickly. I suppose the worse bit is the 2 hr prep time each day, but some teachers have alot of essays to, so that keeps them busy for that period. My biggest class has 8 students in it, so its pretty easy to manage, and i dont even think about the camera in the classroom, not even an issue. I think its a pretty decent company to start off with, the cirriculum is very good, and you are given enough freedom to do your own thing to. Depending on the branch, there is abit of Bull S@:t that goes with the job, but the actual teaching is fine. We all moan, but there are far worse jobs out there thats for sure. And finally, my officetel appartment is awsome, on the 19th floor with a great view.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me.
