Hi all,

I have been wanting to take a photography class for what seems like forever. Anyway, I have been in touch with Vincent Sung and he is currently offering the following classes (see below).

However, the problem for me is that I work evenings and cannot make the times offered (Tuesdays and Wednesday 7-9pm). I am interested in the Level 1 class.

So, Vincent has indicated the he will offer a Level 1 class in the mornings from 10am -12pm on ANY weekday if he is able to secure 3-4 students. Therefore, this is my call out/plea to anyone who would be interested. Since it would be such a small group, I am sure the lessons could be tailored to your experience/expectations.

We can decide which morning is best, a decision just needs to be made ASAP as the night classes start this week. And Vincent will not be available in January.

All the info is below.

Please let me know if you are interested via posting or private message.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attn. Future students
Professional Photography courses taught in English
for foreigners and Koreans (proficient in English)

LEVEL 1 - Introduction to digital & analogue photography
LEVEL 2 - Intermediate sessions with real situations (course + workshop)
LEVEL 3 - Specialized workshops (portrait, fashion, landscape, etc.)
LEVEL 4 Fine Art processing techniques (intensive workshop)

New WINTER SESSION New CONCEPT!

Are you interested in learning more about photography? Then, we have just the right class for you.

VSP PHOTO INSTITUTE now offers evening classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7 to 9 PM.
Workshops on Saturdays

NEW WINTER SESSION: (Nov. ~ Dec. 2006)
The beginner and intermediate course, consisting of four classes taught in English, will start on every
Tuesdays, - starts Nov. 28th followed by Dec. 05, Dec.12, Dec. 19
(LEVEL 2 intermediate course - focus on lighting/composition - studio & location)

Wednesdays, - starts November 29th followed by Dec. 06, Dec. 13, Dec. 20
(LEVEL 1 beginner course with fourth session in a professional studio - portrait)

*Any missed classes can be taken at another evening of the same month

Saturdays afternoon are reserved for SPECIALIZED WORKSHOPS on request by students (min. 4 students / per workshop)
Private classes are also available on Saturdays (from 2 to 6pm)
*and generally are followed by a casual dinner

NEW CONCEPT:
*Changes from previous classes regarding numerous requests and feedback from students:
- some classes will be held outside of the confinement of the class room in order to get more on hand practice and encourage students to take photographs and actually practice what they learned

- attendance and networking at art - photography related events will be included into the body of the class (to add a more casual mood)

- chances to be commissioned for newspapers/magazine photographic work and a group photography exhibition will be given to some students (regarding their field of photography and 'ability')

The class will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about professional photography and to practice photography with a professional. You can get to know new friends who share the same passion/hobby and experience shootings in a 'real professional' photo studio (and maybe bring home your own portrait). There will also be a field trip/workshop during the weekend to a nice area where the participants can practice what they have learned during a month (after completion of the whole LEVEL 1 or LEVEL 2)

The course (4 classes/month) costs 250,000 KRW and includes all necessary equipment, such as PC, access to a professional studio, studio lights, etc. Additional costs will accrue for the field trip as well as other additional activities (lunch or dinner are at students own costs)
*Please note that Wine & Women Korea and EKF members can take advantage of a 20% discount and only pay 200,000 KRW. To take advantage of the discount for WWK member, you need to show you Wine & Women Korea membership card as well as an official ID.

Early registration: pay your tuition by the end of November to get the same discount benefit (20%)
*pay online as follow:

Cool, so would you sign up?

In case anyone is wondering, the classes take place near Shinchon subway line 2. Map here:

P.S. re:cursive, it's actually the Perrey-Kingsley album cover that the Beasties copied. But yeah, sweet album on both sides.

Anyone know any classes in and around the Gunsan area? lol....prob not

ysl and re:cursive,

Ideally, I pretty much would like to know today if you can do it. It would be great if you would enroll. I think it'll be good. If you have any questions call Vincent, all the research is here. Let me know...

This is perhaps the only reason I can think of for wishing I was working at a hagwon in Seoul. Laughing

I would love to take a photography class. If anyone knows of any in the evenings in Gwangju, let me know!!

(Yeah, I know... I won't hold my breath...)

I was hoping to find something on a sat in Gunsan, or Jeonju, but I think I have a better chance of my hogwan saying "good job, we'll just pay for the rest of your year and you can go home now..."

Ive seen this. Most of it is geared towards fashion photography so if you want to be a fashion photo and shoot in a studio, it might be worth the money.

Is Vincent so desperate for students though? Pressure selling tactics?Smile

t al z,

i actually received a response from vincent today with the same information you provided.

unfortunately, the classes he offers are not the kind i am looking for as i've had a decent amount of art school/work experience.

good luck and i hope you get enough people!
