| Has anyone mentioned haircuts? I'd also like to add the act of tipping. |

In Canada, the post office absolutely sucks. They charge people ($3.75) 4000 won for their smallest packing box and ($1.75) 1500 won for people to send a bloody postcard overseas. If Koreans come to Canada and want to send 10 postcards to friends over here, they'll have to pay 20,000 won. Welcome to Canada!
Since I am complaining about the gov., let me share one more beef (in point form).
Mail Order Shopping Limit before duty is charged.
Korea = $125 USD
Canada = $13 USD ($15 Canadian Dollars) WTF are you going to buy online for $13?
Bastards!
Just curious, but what are the limits in other English speaking countries? |
Which is why I never by anything on Ebay from a Canadian seller. |
For now, there is no internet tax in the USA. You may have to pay state sales tax if you are in the same state as the store ships from. |
I'm in Korea. |

Korean food - 8,000 won for some damn ddeokbokki.

Yeah, what's up with that? It's the same in Australia. I see crappy little restaurants seeling Korean food for 8 - 10,000. I always think, "man it would like half that much (at least) in Korea". 8000 won for kuksu? WTF?
Catching the train here too sucks. Costs like 5000 for a half hour train ride. I remember taking the subway to Incheon from Myeong Dong (similar length of time) for less than $1AU. Add in the fact that the Seoul subway is relatively comfortable and that half the time in Sydney you are riding a rolling oven due to lack of AC, well, I don't think the cost is worth it. |

Ticket Master and other entertainment ticket providers back in Canada are major rip-offs.
In Korea, these types of companies charge you 1000 ~ 2000 won per ticket, but Ticket Master charges something like 20% of the ticket price.
I once wanted to see a Samul Nori group that was coming to Toronto. Tickets were priced at a reasonable $30 Canadian dollars, about 25,000 won. I refused to buy tickets to the show because those thieves at Ticket Master wanted to charge me $6 for their service charge. |

A bottle of soju in a London restaurant for 8 pounds that's about 16000 won.
And I thought beer here was over priced! |

That's not true.
Grocery shopping in the UK (shopping per se actually) is reasonably-priced and there's plenty of choice....as opposed to Korea where there's less choice and it's more expensive.
Anyone who thinks Korea is cheap or good for shopping must come from an absolute tip. England pisses on Korea in this respect from a not insignificant height. Wages are higher in the UK too.
But rent, property prices, taxes....that's where the UK fucks you in the arsehole. And public transport is worse and more expensive in the UK of GB. |
