Yeah for me! It looks like I'll be staying at least another two or three but:

What should I have done or be able to do by now?
(Wise axe comments welcome, as are serious ones. I am a little under the weather from celebrating last night and could use a laugh)

Nah, different night, actually that was my six month anniversary. Last night was shots of 151 and Tequila all night and a few bottles of soju from 3-5 am, luckily I don't have to work today. Cool

you should be able to read hangeul. if you haven't learned it already, i can't stress how very very easy it is and how much it will open this place up to you. if you have learned it already, then keep up the good work.

I arrived here 4 years ago last Saturday. Have worked at 4 different schools. Finish my current contract in March and looking to finally get my CELTA this summer, then finish teaching related grad school after that.

Hangul, got it, my pronunciation sucks but people don't always laugh now, basic comprehension is ok but I'm a slacker when it comes to vocab. Need to find a girlfriend who doesn't speak English Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the PMs and comments everyone. Big ups to everyone who came round the same time last year and kept it real. I can honestly say I'm surprised I didn't catch more isht with this post, was looking forward to the laughs, but hey, maybe this board is getting less negative.

You should have a black belt in taekwondo by now. You should have seen at least one old man blowing snot out of his nose onto the sidewalk. You should be able to count backwards from 20 to 1 in Korean while holding a lit match upside down. You should be able to catch mosquitos with chopsticks. You should be able to read this: 알로웨트 전틸 알로웨트, 알로웨트 즈트 플룸어래.

I should use my brand spanking new third degree hapkido belt to kill you for making me speak French with that 알로웨트 전틸 알로웨트, 알로웨트 즈트 플룸어래, I don't even know how to spell it in English.
