They began building a Hooter's in Jeju a few years ago. Before completion of the Restaurant, Koreans got wind what Hooter's was, and summarily Ajumma-led protests, picketing began against Hooter's. Construction abandoned. Mini-mall turned into "Hooter's Plaza" (With the owl logo and everything), but no Hooter's restaurant.
Gratuitous display of breastezez are apparently taboo in Korea--yet down the road from the intended-Hooter's are room salons, hotel hookers, singing room hoors, coffeehouse prosties, masaggee. |

No, what's happened is, Korea ripped them off and started a local variant of Hooters. It's called "Hookers". But out of fear of trademark-violation lawsuits, they don't display the big "Hookers" signboard outside anymore, they use phony names instead. And to further evade detection, they vary the menu and interior decor from outlet to outlet, so no two Hookers ever look the same. |

Those *beep* aren't particularly impressive. I was expecting humungous knockers ala Pamela Anderson. Any girls *beep* can look like that with the help of a gel filled bra and a tight t-shirt.

I think it was at least 5 years ago I first heard or read of plans to have a Hooters in Korea. Finally there will be. I wonder what took so long. Anyone else remember hearing that --- it may have been even before 2000.
There's been one in Taipei for a long time. Never went there though. A lot of Taiwanese girls have the goods though, a bit surprising for east Asia perhaps. |

You can't be a Hooters Girl if you pad your bra. Bras must conform to strict rules. White or fleshtone in colour, and no padding or "gel filled" whatever, or else you're out on your ass. One reason why you might be underwhelmed by the women in that photo is that contrary to popular belief, Hooters Inc. does not hire women solely based on chest measurements. That is but one criteria in the overall Glamourous™ appeal of a Hooters Girl. They must be hot in every department: height, weight, face, smile, personality, ability to take really crude jokes & language without hitting customers and, of course, outstanding (by which we don't mean just fugly-big) Hooters. |

I'm sure the gals will take plenty of abuse from the Korean adjoshi customers. Lots of these guys love to take out their frustrations on women. If Hooters really allows this, then business should really take off. |

They won't. Hooter's has been banned exactly because their outfits are so revealing, and no good korean girl would be allowed to dress like that...in public at least...other than the nightclub, or Itaewon, or Hongdae. |
