I dunno. There was a very sickly looking dog who lived below me that seemed to live mainly on rice, veggies, and the odd scrap of meat. I think meat eating animals really need meat. Sad

I'm with you.

Cats Can Catch and Spread Bird Flu, Study Says

Better safe than sorry. I'll personally strangle every stray cat or dog in Korea with my own two hands if it keeps one human from dying of bird flu.

They can't just live on scraps. But there are vegan dog foods that are formulated to contain all the right nutrients, or you can make them something healthy. Here's a really wonderful story about a vegan dog:

That article is horrible.

Anyway, if experts from the WHO have spoken out against the slaughter (of cats and dogs), what makes you think it will save anyone? How are they going to prevent people from hiding their animals and taking them out of the slaughter area? Fortunately, I just found out my foster dog is safe.

I think we're just talking strays in Korea, not actual pets cared for by responsible pet owners. If people can't take care of their pets, society should not pay for people's selfishness with the threat of plague.
