yes, there are lots of forums already, some i don't visit too often, but should there be another one?

there are a lot of q's about women's issues and such...

of course, there are also a lot of q's about sex, so arguably there should be a xxx forum, but i'm just wondering what the general feeling is.

A women's forum would be cool but then some of the knuckle draggers might kvetch. A sex forum would be, I think, not in keeping with the spirit of Dave's and the swear filter. One only has to look at the English Spectrum site for what happens when foreign teachers start talking about shagging the locals.

If enough men wanted a men's forum and would use it for men's topics, then certainly. It's kind of like white people at university that suddenly form a "White Students Association" thinking they're making a point. They get together once at a pub, find they have no common interests, and that about wraps it up.

The fact that in 2006 men and women still feel there are topics they can`t discuss in each others company is a bit sad. I also don`t think there are enough women on here to make it lively. And in general I just think too many forums dilutes the vibe. The Korean part of daves is at the maximum divisions I think or it will lose steam. Can`t women talk about woman things within specific threads?

A marriage and family forum would be a good idea. I'd support the idea.

While I'm not really in support of a women's forum, it can be more than a little unpleasant posting on a site where every thread - even ones that start out about innocent topics like shopping for groceries - turns into a discussion of how fat, revolting, unattractive and stupid us Western women are. There's a real boys' club here.

You never see it working the other way....

Also, there seem to be a lot of health-related threads that pop up. That's not to do with not being able to discuss issues with everyone; more that SURELY the guys don't want - or need - to read those things.....

EFL-law has a women's forum but last time I checked it seemed to be mostly posts from men which kind of defeats the purpose.

There are some topics that generally I don't like to discuss in the company of men. Cramps, menstrual flow, mammograms, thrush, waxing, beauty stuff (we must keep our tricks of the trade a secret Wink ), certain aspects of dating + sex. In general I find that men don't like to hear about certain parts of being a girl either so that seems to be ok. I also think that their certain aspects of guy's talk that I'm happy for guys to keep between themselves. That being said I still love having men in my life, but just not my whole life.

I actually do think ther are a lot of women that make it lively. If you look at the popularity and frequency of the ladies lunches, there is a good community of female posters on Dave's. However having seen some of the nastiness towards women posters, I think having a women's forum would just be a magnet for every troll in Korean cyberspace and be totally counter-productive.

There hasn't been a thread (unless I've missed it/them) for quite some time discussing how revolting to all 5 senses women like you are, Natalia. However, you post regularly about how princessy and overrated Korean women are in yourr book. An inferiority complex, clearly. A forum for disgustingly ugly white chicks would be a good idea. You can all be bitter hags together and wallow at what few big richards filling your pipes you so desperately crave yet don't get in good old South Korea.
