|
|
Lately I've been catching my students' colds, coughing like crazy and to top it up, my body's drying up. Been doing all the wrong things like looking for a pharmacy on a Sunday (none opened) and showering too many times a day.
My fever has resided but my cough doesn't seem to be improving. Is there a certain shot that I should be taking in this part of the world? My arms and thighs has these rashes (probably from the cold and showering), how do I deal with these?
Any advice would be appreciated. |

Is it that dry cough that just won't go away? Buy a humidifier and set it up in your bedroom. Its worth the money. Mine broke and haven't gotten my lazy ass to E-mart yet for another. I wake up in the middle of the night feeling like my mouth and throat are made of cardboard.
Trust me. You won't regret it. Also, try to drink 2 liters of water a day. I keep a bottle on my desk and try to finish 2 liters before I leave work. |

use a humidifier, drink lots of water, suck on/eat raw garlic (chewing on parsley will neutralize garlic breath if you can't get it out by brushing/mouthwash), drink ginger/lemon/honey tea, take a tiny bit of olive oil or olive oil which has been infused with raw garlic. also peppermint tea, or peppermint/yarrow/elder tea.
also yarrow

By not taking anything other than water. Colds and coughs are genrally viral based. We have nothing to kill viruses, except for our immune system- which shows itself in phlem build-up, runny noses, fevers, etc. Cough/cold medicine and the like wok by supressing the immune system, thus prolonging the amount of time that you are sick, and possibly making it chronic.
The solution is to drink lots of water at all times, drink hot tea for a cough, try to eat nutritious food, and get plenty of sleep every night. |

You could buy some Johnsons baby oil or cream for the rash. Most supermarkets stock it. Had the same problem in China, when some parts of my legs resembled dried cracked old leather, due to the -5c temps. |

I'd agree with this. Lay off the medicine if at all possible, it just prolongs the misery. When I feel a cold coming on, I drink 3 or 4 liters of water a day, overdose on Vitamin C, sleep 12 hours a night and eat plenty of fruits and veggies and other healthy stuff. It seems to avert most disasters.
If you're sick all the time, take a look at your lifestyle. Too many late nights drinking? Do you eat food that has touched the kids grubby little hands? Too much junk food? Preventative action is sometimes the best medicine. |

soju actually works!
After drinking a little, it made my sore throat go away!
then the next day it came back during the afternoon...
then after drinking again, it was gone for good.

Yoo ja cha is good.
Yong gak san is great for a sore throat.
Vitamine C - take a truckload, great stuff!
Plenty of oranges. I like them mixed in with that Orange flavored yogurt (comes in a bottle). Makes a super desert.
garlic, ginger are awesome!
A humidifyer will help a lot as well. 45% humidity is not only good for your acoustic guitar, it will also do wonders for your body.
Sleep a night on the ondol floor with the heat cranked up. |

Hmm...water is good, but I think OJ is better, try hitting the OJ hard and see if that helps at all. |

Take 1 lb. of rotten and stinky kimchi a day for a week. And sweat the kimchi off in the sauna. You'll either be fine or dead. |
