Just talked to a buddy of mine in the States. Talking about the Playstation3 frenzy. He, his girlfriend and his brother started waiting in line Wednesday evening to purchase a Playstation3 on Friday morning. They were 4,5,6 in line. On Thursday morning they sold their spots in line for 800 dollars each. He said he never had any intention of buying. Has the world gone mad?

I love these stories, and point them out to my wife whenever possible.

Had he actually bought one he could of sold it on the internet for more. Then again at least he didn't get shot over it or trampled to death.

Not all gamers are nuts. Similar to all groups that have fanatics in it. You get labeled with the rest. For instance I love Star Wars, but I don't love it enough to dress up in a costume and camp outside of a movie theatre.

Korea isn't the only country with issues over "prestige" and "status". The PS3 is the new young male (sorry but almost all games are male) prestige item. It used to be hot rod cars, now its hot rod car games...
