Where can I buy a robot in Seoul?

A young student asked me to buy them a robot for his birthday... told me maybe it would cost about 300,000won-

I have never seen them sold in shops - and of course would prefer to buy the same kind of robot he wants - but at a cheaper price maybe 100,000-150,000won...

anyone know where they sell robots..?

Lotte Department store in Myeongdong. I forget which floor, but there is an outlet of 'The Sharper Image' store there. They have a couple of pretty impressive robots. The top end one is W300,000- 400,000. There are others that are less expensive.
I also saw the same robot in Sinsegae Dept Store at Express Bus Terminal, but again I forget which floor it was on.

By the way, isn't is a bit creepy to be buying expensive presents for students?

no he has been studying with me - with his brother for many years - and his parents have given me so many "Korean traditional" gifts - my apartment is starting to look like a korean museum...

so I thought I would buy a birthday gift - I asked him what him wanted - and even suggested maybe a mp3-(ipod)player 50,000-80,000 (as I have noticed he has recently started listening to lots of music) but he insisted on a robot....

I just want a cheaper robot... thanks for your suggestions....

I approve of your reasoning. LOL.

The dinsosaur robot like the one above sells for about 100,000-150,000 won I think.
There's a robot dog that does a lot of tricks that is the next step up I think.l
And the best one looks like a real robot, is about 2-3 feet high. Can lie down and get back up again, can be programmed to pick up things or retrieve things (like beer from the fridge), and even flinches if you put your hand in front of it's face. It's pricey, but it really is pretty cool.

Hmmm, Craash replies. Is this one of Yesterday's alternate handles?
