alright. download the bios for it and flash your bios (it should be a .exe file). Then, download the harddrive bios located on that page. You should be fine afterwards. Let me know what happens once everything is done. |

more specific. You'll see the harddrive drivers for the board. |

as soon as it gets up and running with windows, install the harddrive drivers. If it still doesn't load, then...if I were you....take a spare harddrive and load windows on it (disconnecting your old one). From the BIOS, select cdrom, then, install windows.
Through the new windows, save your information from your other harddrive and then reformat it giving it a blank slate. |

okay so i ran SeaTools Desktop on boot (http://www.seagate.com/support/seatools/) and it detected both drives no problem at all. however when i ran discwizard (from seagate) it only detected the one drive. how do i let windows (or my bios for that matter) find the second drive. (seatools desktop is only a diagnostic too).
I'm stumped been googling all day can not find any answers
Cheers |

sooo.......you have 1 harddrive up and running just fine now but the other does not work? If this is the case, you may have a faulty harddrive. Try connecting another harddrive to your pc and see if that one is detected. If it is detected, then you know it is your harddrive that went bad. |

i ran the seagate desktop which boots up instead of the bios and it detected both drives fine, it then did a test on both drives and the controllers and reported all ok. So it seems the drives are ok and so i am thinking it is not a hardware issue. I have noticed since i have installed the new bios in the IDE settings where once it said
SATA -AHCI (old setting)
it now says
SATA - RAID
do i need to change this? |
