Hey,

Two questions, I hope someone can help.

1. I recently posted my contract on here for feedback, and got some very helpful advice. I emailed the recruiter/school and asked for some 'amendments' to be made before I could sign the contract. I get an email back answering my various questions (e.g. how they define a working hour) but they haven't sent an updated contract with the changes.

Am I to make the changes we discussed myself, then send them the contract back.

OR

Email them back and ask for them to implement the changes and send me the updated contract?

2. They define a working hour as 60 minutes teaching time, but the lessons are '40-50 minutes'. Does this mean I could get more lessons than I bargained for?

Thanks for any help.

You could send them the requested changes in writing. Let them rewrite the contract though.

And yes, you could end up doing more classes.

Working hour should be 50 mins. Try to get them to agree to - one class = one teaching hour, regardless of the class length.

Do some simple divison - if your contract says 30 hours a week and they score a class as 45 minutes then you are teaching how many classes a week?

I had a contract in China at a Uni, they pulled that crap. Said each class was 45 minutes and I had to teach a full 16 hours a week. Then they scheduled me with classes all over the board. A class in the am, 2 in the pm, 2 in the evening..

It was very annoying...

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I'll have to get on to them about this whole working hour thing.

Any more thoughts on the first question?
