I had a great time. I don't think I have ever seen so many foreign women in one place at the same time since I have been in Korea.
Hope to see you guys again

It was fantatic meeting you all - everyone was so warm and welcoming, THANKYOU! Time went by too quickly to come around and meet with you all... it was kinda like speed dating huh?
Periwinkle - those cookies were fantastic!! Do you share your recipes? I also appreciated the recommendations of where to stay and shop etc in Seoul.
BTW, please PM me if anyone is interested in catching up for a gals weekend here in SK - I met some really cool adventurous chicks over lunch |

I had a blast meeting people and shopping. The reason I made the name tags is ... I am really bad with names. I can remember all sorts of other info about a person, but the name just escapes me.
Peta did you find a warm coat? I hope so! It was great to be shown where the good shopping is.
Anyone up for a trip to Daegu to see the Da Vinchi exibit? I would like to go the weekend of the 16th. I have never been to Daegu, This seems to be a good reason to go. PM me if you are interested. |

Will it still be open in January? I'd be up for a trip then. |

Here you go:
The Neiman-Marcus Cookie
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups blended oatmeal (blend in a blender to a fine powder)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 oz. chocolate chips
4 oz. hershey bar (grated)
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chocolate chips, hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 or 11 minutes.
Starlight Mint Surprise Cookies
(I substituted Hershey's Kisses and use peppermint extract instead of vanilla extract)
 3 cups all-purpose flour
 1 teaspoon baking soda
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 1 cup white sugar
 1 cup butter, softened
 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
 2 eggs
 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 chocolate mint wafer candies
 walnut halves
DIRECTIONS
1. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, white sugar, butter or margarine, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine and mix at lowest speed until dough forms.
2. Drop by scant teaspoons 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Press candy wafer on top of each - mold dough sides up around mint. Cover with scant teaspoons of dough. Top each with walnut half.
3. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 9-12 minutes.
Mexican Wedding Cakes
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all-pupose flour
1 cup finely chopped almonds or pecans (I used walnuts)
1/4 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar
Pre-heat oven to 325 F. In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup powdered sugar, butter and vanilla. Blend well. Stir in flour, nuts and salt until dough holds together. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 15-20 minutes until set but not brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets. Cool slightly and roll in powdered sugar. Cool completely and reroll in powdered sugar.

| I know I promised that I would be there....and I was all set to go until I got FOOD POISONING. It started on Saturday and I am still dealing with the effects. Finally went to the hospital yesterday to get medicaiton. I was so disappointed that I couldn't go, especially after hearing all the stories. I am hoping to meet you all at the next one. |
