Lim Soo-jung: 39 kg, but That's Okay
Lim Soo-jung had to get her weight down to just 39 kg to shoot her latest film.... Lim endured a few months of eating only raw sweet potato and pieces of apple. On top of that, on days when she did not have to go to the set, she went to a fitness center to work out.

Well, geez, I don't eat like that and I'm like 45kg. If I ate like that for a few months, I'd be in the hospital, not filming a movie! |

I believe the correct English title is I'm A Cyborg But That's OK -- down to the capital A, even.
Which is not to say it's a great title, but neither is Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance.
What we should really be kvetching about is that Park Chan-Wook turned into Park Chan-Stupid when he cast 비 as the male lead. |

Thats sick, I'm sorry but any man that would desire a woman of that size, I'd have to think has some kind of young girl complex. That is not natural. |

This thread reminds me of the time I saw A Beautiful Mind. The girl I was with kept saying how Russell Crowe looked way worse than he did when he was in gladiator. Er, maybe it's because he's playing a slightly crazy mathematician instead of cool Russell Crowe. Just like I didn't assume that Russell Crowe likes to walk around with an odd gait and weird facial tics I'm also going to go out on a limb and assume that the girl in this role lost the weight simply because the role required it. |

I'm not hammered: This female literally ran into Rochie at Gangnam-Gu Station.
Roch had to look twice at her due to her slight form. One should offer a prayer to God on the poor gal's behalf and then drag her to Rochie's Fat Farm - a P.C. Bong in Seoul where she could drink, eat, and be merry 24-7.
Pat Metheny's band from about 1983 is on www.icebergradio.com right now and they are about to be replaced by Cream's "Tales of Brave Ulysses."

In a sense, this is similar to what Christian Bale put himself through in The Machinist: (from imdb.com)
Quote: |
The producers of the film claim that Christian Bale dropped from about 180 pounds in weight down to about 120 pounds in weight to make this film. They also claim that Bale actually wanted to drop down to 100 pounds, but that they would not let him go below 120 out of fear that his health could be in too much danger if he did. His diet consisted of one can of tuna and an apple per day. His 63-pound weight loss is said to be a record for any actor for a movie role. He since gained the weight back for his role in Batman Begins (2005). |
However, it occurs to me that if a woman did this for a role in North America, the media would crucify her. |

The tone seems congratulatory in the article here. |
