Wow, please explain exactly why it doesn't work, cause I think it does.
Politics is a game for the hearts and minds of the population. Coulter is "playing dirty" by promoting a severely distorted view of liberalism. If liberals do not play dirty too, they will be at a big dissadvantage. Republicans have always been better at the dirty part of politics, ie misrepresenting the opposition in order to get your supporters to fear thier vision. The right does not just seek to say "Our ideas are better and will lead to a better life in this country", they are saying "The liberals ideas are acutally un american and positively DANGEROUS for the country". Such a distortion is utterly dispicable as it takes the debate to the gutter, but it's very powerful becuase it plays on fear, a very strong emotion and one that Republicans are much more hip to than Liberals. Republicans know that a scared population will vote conservative, they have known this for a long time.
I can only see two solutions to this problem ( grossly misleading charicatures of the opposition in politics ) of which Coulter only one example but a prime example. Either get serious and ban it, or Liberals need to start playing dirty too ( use the knife ). Otherwise people like Coulter will shift the country to the right and put the Liberals at a dissadvantage.

Or has become buried in obscurity (same thing really).
Ditto on that Tucker Carlson guy.
I mean, you don't hear anyone quoting them as sources or anything, only as objects of ridicule. |
