OTTAWA (CP) - The federal Liberal women's caucus is accusing the Conservative government of trying to keep females "barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen," saying the government is pursuing an ideological agenda that ignores women's needs and cuts funding to those who need help the most.
The Liberal women released a set of party policies Monday aimed at what they say are the most pressing social and economic issues facing Canadian women, particularly working women and their families, caregivers and seniors.
Improving the social and economic equality of women is the driving force behind the first volume of what the Liberals are calling their "Pink Book." |

The federal Liberals also said that the Conservatives want to ban the internet, implement Sharia, kill the vegetarians, and sell young Canadians to space aliens so they can work as slaves in salt mines. So it must be true. Darn those Conservatives!
Is it only me that thinks "pink book" is a little demeaning, by the way? Does it have some nice frilly lace on the corners and a darling matching slipcover in a tasteful shade of mauve?

You cannot use the labels one party gives to the other as if it is how that party describes its own agenda.
The Liberal Womans Caucus is a very, very big-government group. I read their platform last night (you can get it from the Liberal party website). I oppose it and I'm not a PC. Does that mean that I want women to be barefoot and preggers?
I don't support the War on Drugs either. Does that mean that I support people being coke-heads?
Camon dude. Usually you are a tad sharper than this. |

I thought it was the liberals who want to implement sharia?
The conservatives want to ban gays and prove that AIDS doesn't exist silly. |

Tories shutting down Status of Women offices
Last Updated: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 | 11:25 PM ET
CBC News
The Conservative government is closing down most of its Status of Women Canada offices, saying they are not doing enough to serve women directly.
Twelve of the agency's 16 offices will close by April 1st, Heritage Minister Bev Oda said Wednesday.
"What these offices don't necessarily provide is the help directly to women. There was a lot of lobbying groups, there was a lot of advocacy," Oda said. |

Oh this bullsh1t again.
This is bullshit I think women have more rights then men especially white men. Any time there is even 1 case of discrimination the feminists go ranting and raving about how its unfair. Where do men go when we feel treated unfairly? (Seriously we just get laughed at, by Women and Men a like)
Now lets look at the justice system, time and time again women have served less time then men for equal crimes and even more hainous crimes. Look at Carla Homolka.
I think it would be fantastic if women could dig ditches, be machine operators, welders, plumbers, carpenters, manual labourers. I know that they are more then capable of filling those roles. There would be NO time to be barefooted or pregnant. You would be wearing steal toe boots working in shity conditions under lots of physical stress. By the time you finished your first year in under those condition I doubt any woman would even look a little bit attractive.
Heck statistics show that women are even better educated then men in Canada.
I just don't buy this Liberal LALA propaganda. Some of these feminists should come and work in Korea.
Neither of those articles actually STATE or IDENTIFY problems that women face. Its a political strategy called popular discontent, its used to sway votes. The Liberals know that they stand no chance of having a majority government so they are just using "political tactics" to sway the few women to vote for them.
I took 3 feminist courses in University, Sociology, Economics and Poly sci. I am not expert on the matter but Women have it quite good in Canada. Unless you read between the lines you never get the whole story. |

I don't want to be accused of being a cro-magnon (I will be anyway). But my signature reads: "If you're a male feminist in Canada, you have no brain. If you're not a male feminist in Korea, you have no heart." I mean it. These people need to travel if they think they have it so rough.
I do not think the status of women in Canada, or elsewhere, is a laughing matter, or that there's no inequalities (although there are inequalities for men too in Canada and they have no government department backing them up.) However, since Trudeau's day these government feminist committees have wasted taxpayer money issuing papers protesting that the lightbulb violates the socket and other academic trivialities, and have accomplished nothing except antagonizing people, including moderate feminist groups who address real needs of the country's women.
If the Conservatives do nothing substantial to address women's issues and simply axe these departments, that would be ominous. But to begin with cutting these tax leeches, and to continue doing so with other ridiculous departments, and to spend that money on daycare assistance or education or on tax relief, would be doing most women a better service, I think. Just my 2c.

I went to U.P.E.I., Dullhousie, U.W.O., and Toronto: All of these institutions had too many irrational Feminists who not only insulted all men but disrupted the progress of females.
Vaughn Jelliffe, Leading Antagonizer of Men at U.P.E.I. and in the Province of P.E.I., lived in Hunter River and was, with out a doubt, the worst or most antagonistic Thing in Prince Edward Island's Third Wave/Feminazi Invasion.
It really sucks that hateful wretches such as, in my opinion, Vaughn Jellife, escape legal punishment vis-a-vis Canada's Hate Speech Laws.
When will the Mens' Movement in P.E.I. take effect? |

In the 60's and 70's the conservatives used to tell people "those ndp'ers aren't anything but commies. if you vote for them, they'll come here and take your truck from you!" |

In the 60's and 70's the NDP'ers were commies. And even today, their leader proudly calls himself a socialist. What was your point? |
