Hey,
I want a PSP and want it to play any game or movie I might get for it. Should I buy it in the States or Korea? What do I need to do to it? I'm checkin the QJ forums but was looking for a different view on things. Thanks. |

DO NOT INSTALL ANY CUSTOM FIRMWARES/PROGRAMS INCLUDED WITHOUT KNOWLAGE OF THESE PROGRAMS OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PSP. ALL ISOS ARE FINE HOWEVER
Basically, it's not too hard to crack it, although it's a little harder than bringing your PS2 into someone to get chipped. The important thing to know is what firmware you have. I just bought one that was version 1.52. I had to upgrade to 2.0, then downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade again to 2.71C. Now I can play any games I d/l from the sites without any UMDs. I haven't had the chance to look into movies yet. You'll be able to use any you buy here in NA or wherever as the cord pack is multi-voltage (110-240). I'm pretty sure that mine is a Japanese model although I bought it here. Everything is in English unless you want to install the Nespot wireless, then you'll have to use a little Korean. You can change the languages for subtitles etc in the system settings. Once you get one, PM me and I can give you a little more help...at least I can give you some of the knowledge that I've garnered over the past week.
You'll also likely need these two programs:
UMDGen
PSP ISO Compressor |

Buy it in the states, it'll be cheaper and the games will be in English (if they are bundled).
I have 2 (the black one when it first came out and a white). |
