I'm well aware that dryer machines are thought of as a luxury here. I can accept that, no problem. I didn't expect my school to spring for one, not did I expect my apartment building to have one in the basement, as many in the States do.

However, would anyone know if there is a laundromat anyone in eastern Seoul? Or any place for that matter where I could drop off clothes that would wash them and then dry them in a dryer?

I've given up trying to find one in the town where I live, and at this point, am willing to drag a pile of laundry into Seoul on whatever mode of public transport to be able to dry some clothes in a dryer.

If anyone actually has info on where I could go, that would be great Very Happy Thanks.

You local dry cleaner will wet-wash and dry your clothes for you. It's xx won for xx kg... I think it's around 5000 for about 10kg? Not sure.

Get a co-worker to ask your dry cleaner.

Every dry cleaner in my town dry cleans... None of them use a dryer. Know of any in Seoul perhaps?

Look in the Yellow Pages under "빨래방". I take mine to one in Hongje-dong across from Yujin-sanga.

I have a Whirlpool dryer that I bought used from a local used furniture and appliance salesman. (just thought I'd rub that in Twisted Evil ) I need some extra cash so bring your clothes over to my place. I am not in Seoul but connected by subway.

Can I ask what you so desperately need to dry? I have a dryer in my apartment and I've only used it once or twice for towels in the middle of the humid summer. I'd never put anything else in the dryer because I have the worst luck with everything shrinking.
There has been a suggestion several times on other threads to lay it out in the floor and let the ondol do the work for you.

Check your machine. My samsung drum washer has one...doesn't work as well as at home but makes the towels soft at least.

It's not really a matter of desperation, but socks and underwear and towels are always nicer after being dried in a dryer. My main reason is because that I bought some clothing that's now a bit baggy, and would fit perfectly after one go-around in the dryer. I actually want some shrinkage (perish the thought).

I always have the worst luck with 'shrinkage.' Anything I buy that fits just right shrinks if it even catches sight of the dryer on the way out of the washer, so sometimes I buy things a little big. Those garments stubbornly stay exactly the same size despite my continued attempts (washing in hot water, drying...) There are even some that were too big for a long time that I grew into so they fit perfectly, then they finally decided to shrink! Evil or Very Mad
Good luck with your dryer search, though!
