[Litlbul]

We will be going to Bali in a few weeks for our honeymoon. I have some things planned out, but I would like to hear other suggestions. Anybody recommend anything that we should do?

My wife & I enjoyed the Kak Kak dance at Sanure. While there, check out Randy's Restaurant (Canadian theme bar) for a piece of delicious homecooked shepherd's pie!! Give them my regards.

My (ex-)wife and I stayed in Ubud for two incredible weeks. It was probably one of the best vacations of our lives. Things got much worse between us after Bali though; but that wasn't Bali's fault. You can travel out to all sorts of destinations from Ubud. It's an artisan center staged for tourists, but well worth it. It's very picturesque and romantic. I'd go back there in a second. Try and stay in the hotel where the walkways and balconies look out over the gorge there. Very nice place, reasonable rates. Can't remember the name, sorry.

The beach at Singaraja is quiet with black sand, very pretty/romantic depending on the time of day and the wind.

Kuta is insanely busy and expensive. Stay clear I think. But it is the best place for clubbing I guess.

There really isn't any place in Bali that would be a disappointment though, so your good to go.

Pay a local to take you around by car to some of the temples and volcano, for a couple of days. Someone is bound to approach you about it. Just use your common-sense.

One thing that I would strongly recommend is to get the price for everything/service up front. On our trip there was a hair-beading incident, that cost me a fortune because the price wasn't set first.

The rice paddies are also great. Udbud and the monkey forrest are superb!

Thanks for all the suggestions. We are staying in a 2 bedroom full service villa in Jimbaran Hill called the " Water Spa Villa ". It includes a private pool, private jacuzzi, chef, personal butler, and a driver for 10 hours a day. For that reason, getting around in Bali won't be a problem. I appreciate everyones suggestions. Keep them coming.

Good choice. Jimbaron is wonderful, nice beach, fantastic fish restaurants on the beach. You can do day trips to Kuta or even Ubud, although there's nothing like waking up in Ubud hearing all the animals.

Try to avoid booking things through the hotel office or accepting tour guides. You can do all these things yourself, and others will just double the price. Bali is very easy to explore on your own, especially with a driver.

Everybody at that airport, though, seems to be fishing for a bribe! Hang on to your departure card when you are given it at immigration.

If you are a diver, get over to the Gili Islands. Preferably Gili T. But beware the mushrooms.

I loved Bali but it was a little too touristy for me, especially Kuta Beach area
