I sent my first ever wire transfer today. I mistakenly filled in the routing code in the SWIFT code box. The bank already processed my order. Is there any way I can rectify this mistake? Have I lost my money? Any help would be appreciated. Crying or Very sad

Check your account in a couple of days to see if it's gone through.

Also, there ought to be some manner of holding account for incorrectly processed transactions(meaning, for when money has been sent but the details don't fully match up).Look into that at a larger office here and at your bank back home.

Okay, thanks. I'll have to look into that. I really don't want to lose that money.

Nah, don't sweat it. The bank probably figured out what you meant. If it didn't go through, your bank will let you know (well, if you check with them that is!). It usually takes 2-3 days (not counting weekends) for the money to transfer.

I had a problem with a transfer once, the guy confused my an I for a 1, I waited about two weeks and the money didn't arrive in my account. I went back into the bank and after the initial problem of explaining what I meant, they had it all sorted out and the money was in my account at home three days later. The people in the bank were all really helpful.

The bank was closing up when I finished my transaction. I noticed the error walking home, by then, the bank was already closed. I went to the bank today. I explained the situation to them, and they said, they'd call me back on Monday if there were any problems.
