I checked out expedia today to try to book a ticket to Thailand in Feb. The cheapest one-way ticket was US$780. There's no way that can be right, can it? I mean, it's not like Feb is peak travel time. Who do you guys book your flights with?

Go to the airline websites itself sometimes you can get better fares there.

I found on the Asiana Airline site for the "foreigners residing in Kore" section, picking random dates for one-way to Bangkok from Incheon two flights.

Flight No. Dep. City Arrvl. City Dep. Time Arrvl. Time Aircraft Class/Seat Select
( 1 adult - 540,000 486,000 Won ) <---discounted to 486K
Ticket Validity is 1 year from the first onboard date.
OZ 741 SEOUL(INCHEON) BANGKOK 07 (WED) 17:40 07 (WED) 21:20 747 Travel Class 9

( 1 adult - 540,000 486,000 Won ) <----same
Ticket Validity is 1 year from the first onboard date.
OZ 743 SEOUL(INCHEON) BANGKOK 07 (WED) 20:35 08 (THU) 00:20 333 Travel Class 9

I hope that helps and is a little easier for your wallet. Laughing

If you find a good flight/fare, I would print of the itenerary and fare then go to a travel agent instead of buying online but that's me, I don't do online shopping. The price may increase slightly but I found that it's usually no more than about $25.

Look in the travel forum sticky for travel agents. There are many discount agents that sell tickets to Thailand for around $450-500 during off holiday travel times but they prices dont get discounted until about 30 days before the plane leaves.

I have used Unique Travel in Itaewon and have found them to generally have the best prices. Some people have said that other travel agents are cheaper but usually when I call they arent.

Should be able to find fares for around 350.000. The Taiwan airlines are the cheapest, but I don't recommend the Chinese ones!

IF you can read Korean you can peek online for pricing and then pay a visit to the offices of http://whypaymore.co.kr .

Map, address and particulars in English and Korean are here:

They are currently showing tickets AVAIABLE to Bangkok via Taiwan on EVA Air for 329k.

I'm returning to my home in the UK over the Christmas period.

I've been a regular user of Expedia for a long time now, but on this occasion, I discovered that although it's convenient, it's not the cheapest way to book. I find that booking direct with the airlines is the best way to do it.

My flights have been booked with Asiana up to Seoul and then KLM onwards to London (via Amsterdam). This return flight (6 flights in all) has cost approximately 600 pounds. For the KLM flights alone, Expedia and even Travelmood were quoting twice that.
