Quote:
Of the youth who smoked, 91 per cent reported using cannabis in the past year, compared with 29 per cent among non-smokers in the same age group.

Seriously though: Who is surprised by this?

So? Non smokers are less likely to want to try any kind of drug that involves smoking it.

Tobacco is obviously a terrible drug. Nothing wrong with pot though.

I doubt tobacco is a "gateway drug", but rather that those who are likely to smoke are also likely to do other drugs. Correlations, causality, etc.

Ninety nine percent of all smokers report having participated in the consumption of dairy products.

Smoking and Drug use has been shown to be a trend amongst stupid people. Just observe a smoker, smoking at gas stations, discarding the cigarette from a moving vehicle in aforest on a windy day. These are not the actions of the intellectual elite. Smoking while lying in bed and burning down the house.

Share your observations about stupid things that smokers do.

I'm pretty confident that if tobacco did not exist (but thank god for me that it does!) then these same teenagers would still be abusing alcohol and other drugs.

What you say rings true.

That "gateway" nonsense wreaks of pseudo-science, propaganda & faulty logick.

If someone WANTS to do something badly enough, chances are they'll do it.

Only fools smoke crack.

Sorry to hear that you need that explained. Tobacco has be shown scientifically to have a very strong correlation with lung cancer.

But the most serious and up to date studies cannot find much wrong with pot. Ive been through this on the board so many times. I always win. The anti pot faction is simply not informed.

Was about to say the exact same thing.

Ok. Kinda right.

Puff for puff pot is likely near to or as damaging to the lungs as tobacco. But, even the most heavy user of pot doesn't puff near a much as a light, but regular tobacco user.

Pot simply isn't bad for you because to the extent that it is bad, you have to use it much more than one would want to to seriously cause harm.

I'm confident that if this phony synthetic processed crap many refer to as "tobacco" was not sprayed with hundreds of TOXIC CHEMICALS & ADDITIVES etc, people would have nowhere near the number or extent of health problems which they are curently afflicted by.

Also, cigarete smoke apparently CONTRACTS lung cells, whereas God's good green ganja EXPANDS them.

I was told to smoke cigarettes & pot together is a bad idea.

Think about it.

So ingesting smoke into the lungs is a good thing.

Why not inhale water or alcohol or coca cola.

Give me fresh clean air any day.

The researchers that found that there is no link between marijuana and lung cancer have suggested that maybe it kills aging cells before than turn cancerous. That explanation really got people opposed to the use of marijuana worried because it can be understood as suggesting that marijuana prevents cancer.
