I have dated older men, younger men, Korean men, and foreign men. In fact, my last two boyfriends were foreigners. Its funny, I broke up with my last boyfriend, who was an English teacher from Canada so that I could go out with this French guy in my office.

My Canadian boyfriend was really upset, but I don't care that much. It's not that he was a bad guy; it was just that he didn't understand that in Korea, there are some things a boyfriend must do for his girlfriend.

One of these is paying "pocket money." Every one of my ex-boyfriends, except him, always paid me "pocket money." It wasn�t that much, maybe only 200,000 won per week but it showed that they loved and really cared for me. My new French boyfriend is great; he pays for everything and gives me "pocket money." I think that French guys really understand what women want!"

doesnt this undermine any concept of equality here? Really, how can someone complain about women's poor treatment here, or acting like a slave to their husband, when their biggest complaint about a past boyfriend is he didnt give her money? if i was that canadian guy, i would be happy she left. really, as soon as another guy comes along with more money, she is out the door anyways.

I agree with R-Seoul, if you can`t get lucky at home then it will be " same-same "here. The woman who was taking " pocket money "( you want short time or long time ) from these guys must have a penchant for picking insecure, wealthy individuals. I am in my 50`s and have had no problems dating women here in ther 30`s and even late 20`s.

Based on my experiences and the experiences of the foreigners I know here, stay away from K girls. There's a fair amount of foreign girls here, although it is its own insular community, at least you somewhat understand them. And unless you're not into breasts and ass Korean girls aren't all that hot (as an average) definitely some hotties out there, but that brings me back to point A.
