Every so often I check my website stats. Today I noticed that I have had 15 people from North Korea look at my website. Shocked

Are there English teachers in North Korea (probably a stupid question)?

Well, there are official tour guides who speak English. I'm sure their scientists and other top officials can speak English. It's still surprising, though, to have 15 hits in one day, because I was under the impression that the Internet is not common in NK. Were they each from different IP addresses?

They're planning to kidnap you to MySpace for Dear Leader's personal amusement.

RUN!

I've perused MySpace a few times, and I've noticed that especially some American soldiers, list their location as "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea". I think perhaps that your visitors are likely in South Korea, and have listed their location incorrectly.

A visitor to my site cannot list where they are from (unless they sign my guestbook). The visitor's IP address is automatically logged; this comes from the PC itself, not the user. I purposely log the IP's incase someone tries to be a smart a.s.s. and do or say something childlike. I'm pretty savvy when it comes to PC's and such...let's just say people do not want to be stupid on my site.

The IP's are different. Strange though..lol...a lot of them come through via links from Dave's ESL cafe. lol. Laughing

This thing even shows me the type of resolution their monitor was using at the time of viewing (helpful when formatting webpages).

You are correct. Internet privileges are given by Kim himself to his "selected few". Even then, the net is closely monitored and logged. Very strange indeed. hehehhe. Dave's ESL is being monitored by the North! Shocked

Ahhh, I see. I myself am not very computer-savvy, but I thought I had that one figured out haha. Oh well.

That's kinda crazy though - perhaps they think you're.... a little too.... savvy lol.

yes.

edit. only 3 different IP's.

edit again: hmmm....the IP's aren't giving me the final numbers. so they could be all the same or different (3 groups of them or 15 different users...too many possibilities).

PS - I would just like to say that I love that the first time my name was included in a rant, was in a matter like this, rather than some of the other times I've seen people's names mentioned. Yay for me! Very Happy
