| I asked for loratadine and had her write the name in Hangul, 로라타딘. It's sold in the US as Claritin. She only charged me 250 won each. I can't take a picture right now but they are round blue pills with a what looks like a cursive L. Do I have the right pills? -Jeff |

Yeah you got Loratadine. Claritin has 10mg of Loratadine. If you are suspicious about the low price, it's because you bought them in Korea. Medicine is incredibly cheap (low-cost) here. Last week I got a 4-day supply of medicine for 1,500 won. The doctor's visit was 2,000 won. Hehe. |

| I thought loratidine wasn't sold over the counter in Korea. Had you went to the doctor (3000 with your insurance card) and asked him/her for a months supply, you would have paid about 3000 won since insurance covers some of the cost. In the end, it probably would have cost you about 250won a tablet. |

I wouldn't be surprised if she broke the rules for me because it's a Sunday and the clinic is closed. Maybe she'll call the doctor on Monday and tell him to give me a prescription.

You need a prescription in the UK, too.. |

It depends on the pharmacy and the person working there at the time. If one place wont' sell me what I want- then I just go down the street to the next place!
No time to get prescriptions!- and besides, I dont have insurance. |

Thank goodness you no longer need a prescription in the US...and in Canada for even longer. Unfortunately, it no longer works for my US-based seasonal allergies. And in the state that contains my allergens, I can no longer buy the only drug that works. Another reason to live in Korea... |

| Actually, Dexbrompheniramine maleate...however you are right in that the reason you can not buy it in certain places is that it is only sold with pseudoephedrine these days. |

What's funny about that is that you can get generic loratidine in Canada, which is much cheaper than desloratidine (Aerius), but still not as cheap as cetrizine in Korea...I wonder, could the pharmacist have given cetrizine. |

I went back in with my list of drugs and this time I had the hangul written next to desloratadine and loratadine. She insisted it was loratadine and she gave me the information sheet that came with her bottle. The top of the sheet has a KGMP logo 우수의약품지정업체 and the bottom of the sheet has Binex (주)바이겍스. |
