If you plan on being in this field for 2+ years, then a certificate (Trinity TESOL or CELTA, not some other one) is definitely worth it. Actually, it is definitely worth it even if starting out if you have a lot of money already, though most don't If you plan on making this a career, then an MA is definitely worth it (some say a DELTA, but that is more so only for Europe). I guess it depends on your financial situation and what your future plans are. Either way, for 2+ years, a certificate atleast is almost necessary. It will show you are interested in improvement at the least. I think both a CELTA and an MA make really good ESL/EFL teachers. |
