| I'm almost ready to start applying for teching jobs in S.Korea. I do have a question about applying. Would it be a bad idea to e-mail every job offer that I can find my resume? I want to make sure that I get a job, but e-mailing everyone seems to be a bit extreme to me. |

That's what I did!!! I didn't realize that I would get 3 or 4 calls every night from Korea from people making offers. Compare contracts, salaries, housing. Get the "oldies" on here to review your contract. Decide if you want to live in the city/country...what amenities you want. But if you do apply for every position you see, they WILL contact you back. So be prepared to be overwhelmed from the start!! |

I agree,
Send your CV to as many schools and recruiters as possible. Also, post your CV on forums such as Daves ESL and English Teacher Board.
Then, prepare to filter out the rubbish, and lots of it! |

If you don't think you may be very employable in Korea, then your best bet is to target as many recruiters as possible. If you have some previous teaching experience and/or a teaching cert, then I think you can be more selective and approach only those places where you want to work.
However, I would agree, that it will only take contacting half a dozen recruiters to have your phone ringing all through the night asking when you can arrive in Korea. It will be hard to know what to decide when you have a pile of job offers which all look similar to one another. Be warned!
Just remember that when sending speculative resumes out, to include a really good-looking photograph. That will secure things for you! |
