I knew some skinheads back in Belfast N. Ireland who were actively anti-facist and very sound blokes. Politically aware and not afraid to take on the kind of people who would like to start a race war and repeat the inhuman behaviour of WWII.

What I admired about them is that they understood the kind of people they were up against. The softly-softly approach doesn't work with nazi's. You have to kick them off the streets because that's all they respect and understand. Brute force.

I have a student from Vladivostok. He's been living there for 14 years.

According to him, it's not unsafe, and it's a good place. He likes Russian people and he likes Russia.

I asked him about North Koreans in Vlad. He said most of them come up to do hard labour for a short time, and then go home. He said he hadn't heard of any major incidents of them causing trouble. JUst being desperately poor.

There are racist groups everywhere and North Koreans seem like an easy target. Who would stand up for them, anyways?

I had a student or two who claimed (were) skinheads when I was teaching in Moscow. Yes, they were Nazis, which I thought a bit odd considering Adolf considered Slavs to sub human. Actually, one of them bragged about kicking the living crap out of a Vietnamese AND a North Korean.

The main thing you should be asking yourself is why some people deserve to be called skinheads more than others. Why should you be so eager to believe these morons in Russia who probably listen to WWII-era brass marching bands and stomp Asians are skinheads, while a guy who enjoys beer, friends, and race music isn't?

There's a neverending argument about what it means. Racist groups like the National Front say it means being a subhuman racial supremacist. Unfortunately most non-racists are on their side as well, movie producers, news reporters, cops, and apparently you, who all agree with those guys and think I'm wrong. That's exactly what they want you to do, to help them fight us.

If everyone knew the truth, that most of us are just alcoholics who think we know everything about music, the whole "race warrior" archetype would lose all its meaning. And if that happens, 100 000 Russian morons would go back to failing at life and stop harming people. Don't let them have a monopoly on the dictionary definition.
