I need to turn in my resume tomorrow morning for a univ. job, but haven't had enough time to prepare a teaching philosophy. I know a decent philsophy is about 2-3 pages long (or longer), and I don't feel completely comfortable with putting together a piece of BS tonight. The ad doesn't mention anything about the philosophy, they just want to see a resume and cover letter. Do you think it would be better to include a solid resume and cover letter and then hope I can get an interview and give them the philosophy once I have more time to write it up? I know I shoulda planned this out a little better, but I've been too busy with other work related things for the last few weeks.

teaching philosophy is a good thing. They didn't ask so don't sweat it. But I would definitely get one typed up and ready for future applications.

I would get one ready and have it ready for the interview, if given one. Even if they don't ask you for it, it will help you greatly in answering some of the questions they ask. It just makes your thoughts more organized.
