Well, I tried Limewire and Soulseek. Limewire has a great selection of music, but you have to search for and download one song at a time, then you can only play it through Limewire's player.

simply not true. you just need to try a little bit harder.

I never tried to download foreign titles on Soulseek, but I do successfully download full English titled albums at least once a week. Here are a couple tips for successful downloading on Soulseek:

- only download from results that are in bold, black letters. Gray means you will have to wait in queue.

- after the search has run for a moment, click on the D/L Speed button at top and then try to d/l from the person with the highest kbps rate.

- you can right click on a file and hit 'download containing folder' to quickly queue the whole thing.

I still have tons of luck with Soulseek. Only the most obscure things are unavailable. (Though I have been getting trouble downloading Rachel's Systems/Layers for some reason)

The pleasant surprise was www.torrentz.com. It's probably the most complete torrent search engine out there,

OK, I'll be the first to say, I am idiot, but what is a torrent?

It's a wonderful new way to sit there waiting for some people to come online who have the files you want...

I've had a poor success rate when it comes to getting what I want out of a torrent. But most people I know swear by the method.

i don't know...that never happened to me. you have to check the box, when you sign up, saying that you don't plan on downloading copyrighted material. Other than that, I don't know. When I download songs or movies, it automatically gets transferred into my itunes folder and I can listen to it right away.

Wikipedia's definition of bittorrent is available here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent.

Bittorrent is fanastic to use, I have both limewire and bittorrent and I always use bittorrent over limewire. Limewire is good for downloading individual songs and individual episodes. Bittorrent is a lot better for downloading entire discographys, and entire seasons of tv shows. However, it is also takes up a lot more space and takes days and days to dl. But it's worth the wait. Wink I downloaded the first 4 seasons of the sopranos, seinfeld season 7, south park sesaon 5, and discographys of oasis, killers, and dave matthews band in less than 3 weeks time. Long time waiting, but def. worth the wait. Wink
