one simple question. I've been here for 3 yrs and never saw a snow plow.

can anyone give me a good explanation as to why korea doesnt have snow plows?

Do they think its not necessary? my korean gf doesnt know why they dont have any..

It typically never snows hard enough to make them needed. The most I've seen are trucks with shovels attached to the front

looks like 2-3" here in hongdae area. couldn't believe seeing lightning and hearing thunder last nite. all my years here never heard that though I've seen it during some major snowstorms growing up in the midwest. that shows its was a pretty intense little storm

also never seen a snowplow here. Have you seen those boxes of salt etc around town? People stop and dig into that and throw it on the roads etc to melt the snow.

heck in texas we do have sand trucks to treat the roads for those rare times we get snow/ice cant believe Korea would be more prepared

By the time I went into town last night the sky had cleared off and the stars were out. I figured, No snow tonight. This morning there is an inch or so on the ground (SE of Seoul) and the sky was clear, but it's clouded up again and is snowing a little bit.

I have nothing particular to do today or tomorrow outside, so I say: Let it snow!!!

Gorgeous snowy night last night in Bucheon. We were at a Christmas party and really enjoyed the added bonus of big flakes softly driftng down. By the time we left everything was deeply covered. a good 4 inches at least! Beautiful! Never seen that much snow in Bucheon!

Nope!

But I want to thank you, Qin, for reminding me that I haven't a single clean & pressed dress shirt on hand, and tomorrow's gonna a big hairy day -- boring meeting & pants-peeing fee negotiation -- for this Dancing Monkey Boy. Normally, ironing -- what little of it there is that the dry cleaners don't do -- is Creaning Rady's job. But she no work the weekend. Sad

Hounds be loving the snow, both the big jindo and this little seongbuk terrorist. So small she is, when you toss the ball into the snow, you risk losing both ball and dog. If she weren't half black she'd be invisible out there. (was that racist?)
