Not hard to understand: Let me paraphrase, expand and explain for you:
Clinton is polarizing, she has high negatives, many people hate her, at normal times she would be unelectable, so the Republicans hope she gets the nomination as they have a good shot at beating her, and because they would surely lose to Obama, and if Hillary wins the nomination and the Republicans' likely nominee, McCain, is elected then we will have 100 years in Iraq, a new war in Iran, and the writer would like to NOT have any new wars for a while.
