Apparently it used to grow wild all over the place on the Peninsula a la Nepal. Yup, over in tham thar hills. Students told me. Mrs Skinny is not convinced that it was the good stuff though. Just a non THC strain she says. Anyone know?
Hmmmm, maybe that's where the idea of 'the morning calm' came from. "'Scuse me Hee Sang me ol' mate, while I light up a 'morning calm'. " |

Don't even get me started...I came from the border of BC/Alberta (which is renowned for its bud) to this place...i feel like I'm missing my left arm without the MJ. |

Hemp used to grow all over Korea, not big, hairy buds. They used it largely for clothing and rope...the standard uses for hemp, as it's a very strong, fibrous plant.
As far as them smoking weed, I haven't a clue. The conditions are near perfect for growing, and it is a native species here. I was told some time ago by a professor of botany that one can still find it growing wild on the remote mountains.
As far as why people bring it in...well, 250 million is a nice sum of money, so I can see them being blinded. The rewards are great here; the prices are very high and thus the profit margin is huge. |

| Hemp is still grown in the rural areas. I remember watching a KBS special on it in 2001 or 2002 about growing hemp in Chunchon Province, where most of the local had no idea about the alternate uses of it. However a few of the local kids did as the owners had to check the fields at night for youths trying to steal some. I wonder about the quality (potency) of it though. |
