think he regrets what he said and maybe he should pull those videos
just a lesson to really think before hitting the "send" or "post" buttons |

| I can't be the only one more worried about the fate of the rabbit than the guy that made the video, can I? |

His comment about Koreans "being on sterioids" was pretty funny/ironic when you consider that the folks actually taking steriods are Westerners like Lance Armstrong.
Anyway, if he had limited his comments to just Koreans and not attacked English teachers the reaction of most posters on this thread would be a lot different. His "regret", if indeed he has any, is probably limited to those comments.

Where are you seeing that? The video in the OP was the last one he made on his youtube channel according to this:

That's him, right?
Edit: nevermind, I didn't read any comments. |

One thing the guy said in the last video is so symptomatic of much that is wrong with working in Korea. He says he was fired even though his contract says he must get three warnings. Rarely happens. People come to Korea to work and feel that they have some job security, at least as far as that particular contract is concerned. You might receive a warning, but you'll be allowed time to fix the identified problem, and then it's straight sailing again. Not here. Here the three warnings, if they are given at all, come in rapid succession. Teacher 'x' will receive a warning on Tuesday, the second on Thursday and the third the following Monday. That's not how they are supposed to work. You have to give the employee a chance to fix the identified problem. The second warning can't be tripping over the heels of the first. And a precise problem, and how it is to remedied, must be clearly stated. And a reasonable amount of time must be allowed for the teacher to fix the problem
There is another example over on the 'My Court Case' thread. The ajoshi goes to the teacher's school and bad mouth's him to his principle. He gets an official warning from the school. A week later ajosshi shows up to complain about the foreign teacher some more, and (wait for it...) the teacher gets a 'second' warning. WTF? A week later he's fired. That is not how three warnings are supposed to work.
Korea brings the bad press it gets on itself. The dude probably shouldn't have trashed the apartment, but we don't know what other day to day crap he was going through. For one, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. |

bad example. with a court conviction against the teacher in that case (resulting in a fine), the school deemed the teacher was in violation of their contract - and fired for it (according to the thread). I'm NOT saying the school is right, but your example is a weak one. |

You may have a general point but I'd have definitely found any way possible to fire that guy if he was working at my hagwan. He admitted he just gave the young kids colouring to do and talked to the teenagers like he talked to the camera on youtube. Ie obscenities every other word. He obviously didn't even try to behave like a real teacher. However the school treated him, the students didn't deserve that kind of attitude |

He's just another "Chad from Canada" with the same stories that I've heard many times over from countless Canadians, Americans and Brits. The themes are always the same. In fact, even before I watched his video, I could have predicted what his claims and beefs were going to be.
Koreans need to understand that it's in their best interest to treat foreign staff fairly and run their businesses honestly. Because if they'd don't, people will go straight to the Internet and tell the world about it.
Like the post above says, they give themselves a black eye. |

| I'm thinking that the terrible thing his school did to him was fire him cause he's bat-ass-crazy.. Could you imagine this guy teaching your kids?! Oh man.. He looked like he hadn't showered/shaved his neck in weeks and judging by his bathroom it looked like he was using his shower as a storage unit. Add to that, basically eating cigarettes throughout his videos in his small apartment.. The mix of crazy/angry and smelling like rabbits/cigaretts everyday must of made him a pleasure to work with.. |
