Any foreign film remade in Hollywood. What instantly springs to mind are The Grudge, Shall We Dance, and that abortion City of Angels. See the originals.

i'd agree almost completely. e.g. vanilla sky. somebody told me that they're gunna do a remake of old boy with nicholas cage as the lead. i hope that somebody's just b.s.ing like usual, because i don't know if i could really handle that.

but have u seen departed? in some ways, just as good as infernal affairs. in a couple of ways, maybe even better!

I do stand corrected. And let's not forget Reservoir Dogs. The original blanket statement I made was based on disgust with the aforementioned movies, not any real thought or insight.

Finally, someone who agrees! I tried watching the first one and thought it was nothing special. Everyone thought I was some kind of blasphemer because of it.

Same with Kill Bill. I appreciated the style, but the Kill Bill movies put me right to sleep. Probably won't find anyone to agree with me there, though.

You should really watch the first one, then. It's actually a good movie, the second two ruined the trilogy.

One of the worst types of movies I have seen these days are modern cinematic musicals, like:

~ Moulin Rouge
~ Chicago

I would've walked out on these travesties, but I thought I might as well stay since I paid for the tickets.....

However, in Moulin Rouge's case, when I went to see it at MMC in Dongdaemun when it first came out, half the audience walked out...

Certainly do classics like "Oliver" a grave injustice.......

and while we're at it---- the portrayal of the porn industry and specifically, John Holmes in the movie "Boogy Nights" was alittle boring.........

Oh wow, another awesome thread about movies.

3). UltraViolet
I don't even know where to start. I loved Equillibrium but the director just dropped the ball on this one. The effects were seriously Apple ][e material. I felt like I was watching Mila Jovievich in a bad TRON sequel and the fights were so stylized I felt like I was playing Soul Caliber without actually having a controller in front of me.

2). Closer.
Clive Owen, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts and Jude Law. I know it was based off an award winning play, but they should have kept it on stage. Basic plot: 4 complete jerks who are totally miserable with each other do mean things and say mean things and cheat on each other then try to get back together. It was basically like a double date of codependent relationships from hell. An old girlfriend took me to see this and lauded over it how "real" it was about "real relationships". Thankfully, we soon broke up.

1). Alone in the Dark.
Dr. Uwe Boll strikes again. I know this movie was going to blow, I just had ZERO idea how bad it was going to blow. It wasn't a "so bad it's good" it was "so bad you want to beat kittens." Everything about this movie, from Tara Ried as a PhD Ancient Cryptoplogist to the freaking Star Wars-esque five minute long text crawl at the begging just floored me on its sheer level of suckage.

It's just amazing how different tastes can be. I really enjoyd some of the movies on these lists (Closer, Harry Potter, to name but a few)

But the worst film of all time has to be the vile and morally retarted "I Spit On Your Grave." The synopsis of this particularily foul piece of s#$t: rape, rape, rape, rape, more rape, revenge, revenge, revenge ( you get the picture).

Almost as awful was Battlefield(?) Earth with Travolta. The scene where the monkey like humans learn to fly jet fighters by taking 5 minute turns in a flight simulator was the low point of this mess.
