Very useful being that it's all in Korean. Ostensibly, these visas are for non-Koreans. How about providing a cite in English? I've looked at both Immigration's, MoJ, and the link to the Korean Embassy's web site in Australia that another poster provided earlier. Haven't been able to find a thing in English about these so-called F-5 visas for foreigners. Could it be that Rafal, aka "Jinju", is dyslexic, and actually has a 5-F or FS visa from another country? |

Oh man, this thread is awesome.
In the face of overwhelming facts, I have to grudgingly respect OCOKA dude's stubborn refusal to concede defeat. I'll pay that. I wouldn't be surprised if he's just leading people on just to get his kicks out of frustrating everyone else in the thread.
I just can't see how the existence of an F-5 visa affects him in ANY way. Maybe we're all just missing something in this picture.

Nope. He is actually funny. I have met a few like him in my time but not usually in Korea. He is one of those people who will argue something stupid until their dying day because their tiny minds cannot accept something different from what they want to believe.
It has nothing to do with him, but he would like things to remain the way they were. He seems to be a very racist person who actually hates whites even though they gave him they chance to live in their country. It's funny...he has enjoyed all the benefits of living in the West and yet seems to resent even a little freedom to be given to us in Korea.
I don't understand his thinking...a western country opened its arms to him and his family and allowed them work, study and live free. He and his family should be thankful..but they aren't...they are bitter and resentful. |

I understand. Before September/October last yar he was king. The F4 allowed him to do privates, multiple jobs, etc. Total freedom. The F2-1 was still not that great a visa. We needed permission, couldnt do other stuff. Then it all changed. F2-1s got the same rights as F4s, F5s with even more freedom and rights became available. And suddenly the King Kyopo got competition in Korea from the whitey with an F visa. Overnight it all changed. Overnight the F4 kyopo no longer ruled the part time job market. I can see his anger and the reasons for it. Tough cookies though. |

hehe, yeah it is obvious that he is just yanking chains now. Either way, the posters on this board know him for what he is.
If he can't read links, that is his problem. If he still doesn't believe, again his problem.

Hmm. Very interesting that you think that "whites gave me a chance to live in their country." Since when is the U.S. a "white" country, and who gave me permission to live there? You better check the results of the 2000 U.S. Census dude to see who's currently become the fastest- growing minority group in the U.S., because I'm sorry to say, it wasn't you or anyone white for that matter.
Just so you know, I'm a native-born American citizen, which means that I did not benefit directly from anyone giving me any opportunity. Additionally, I served my country in the U.S. Army as an 11B grunt and in a Civil Affairs unit in the Reserves for eight years. What have you done for your country?
My parents, just like your forefathers -- unless you are a 100% pure-blooded Native American Indian (which I doubt) -- were ALSO immigrants to the North American continent. They (like your progenitors) earned the right to become full-fledged American citizens.
My parents, if you are curious, were able to get their Green Cards in the early 1960s when they first arrived, because they qualified under the FMG (Foreign Medical-school Graduate program), which required them to redo their internship & residency in the U.S., which they did, in exchange for a Green Card, even though they had already done theirs in Korea.
So neither my parents nor myself were recipients of any freebies, largesse, social welfare or any type of handouts from the U.S. Government, as you imply. Instead, we paid our dues, brought and developed professional skills in the US to become bona-fide citizens and dues-paying taxpayers through hard work, dedication and talent.
We have never applied for, nor received welfare benefits, and I served my country in the U.S. Army doing one of the hardest jobs in the military for eight years.
What have you done except bitch and moan and talk trash about non-whites? Why is it always white- trash skinheads that complain about the scarcity of jobs and the lack of opportunities, then blame non-whites for their own laziness and lack of ingenuity?
Btw, didn't you learn the song back in elementary school? "This Land is my Land, this Land is your Land..."
Incidentally, contrary to your accusations, I have no resentment toward living side-by-side with non-Koreans in Korea. As long as they are productive and contributing members of society that abide lawfully and peacefully, why should I have any resentment?
I simply asked you to explain your visa status -- which I was previously unaware of -- and you sufficiently did, so I see no reason why we can't all live in harmony now that I have been duly informed with verifiable information.

That was a personal choice, which does not make you a greater man. I think soldiers fight for others who can't fight for themselves. I have allot of respect for US Military Soldiers who have served. I don't have respect for US Military Soldiers who say, "What have you done for your country!" in the context you used. There are many ways you can help your country. |
Who said I was a "greater man"? I simply said that I served my country. Yes, there are many ways to serve your country and I chose to serve in the way I did. Whether you did or didn't is irrelevant. "What have you done?", is meant to be purely rhetorical. Don't misunderstand. |

Wow, this thread has definitely went in some different directions. OCOKA Dude, I think that was your way of acknowledging that you are now more informed about the F5 visa. I'm glad some of the links helped.
There's been a lot of name calling here, but could it now be taking a softer tone? |
