Sexy singer Minas father passed away yesterday, but her management company kept this sad news from her, for they are worried that her performance in the states might be compromised.

Mina will arrive in Korea today to attend her fathers funeral. RIP to Minas father and my condolences to the family. |

My family kept my grandmother's death from me - I was doing my finals at that time at uni and they didn't want me to fail.. |

Ethically I think it's wrong to withhold information like that, especially if it is a close family member. Am I the only one who would be pissed if this happened to them? |

I would have been furious.

Though there is a difference between family members and managers. Managers have no right ... Some things are more important than a performance.

Does these ring any bells?

Korean entertainers are cash cows to be milked dry by their handlers. It's like a hagwon time a million. |

From what a friend told me, she finds the greatest comfort in reflective surfaces. Then again, she's profesionally hot for a living, so I guess it pays to take care of the goods. |

Mina's in her mid-30s, so there's no reason to keep that information from her. It's quite cruel, and I'd be pretty pissed were that to happen to me.
It's a little different than tzechuk's situation, where parents were absolutely acting with her best interests in mind. (sucks to be kept in the dark, though, and it can feel insulting.) Anyway, my friend died a week before finals week, and I bombed several of my tests and assignments, and really screwed up my semester. I think my life would've turned out pretty differently had I not messed up so poorly those two weeks. |

In the entertainment idustry, your manager controls everything. Your manager's sole purpose in life is to make/keep you successful. A lot of times, managers do overstep their bounds in the best "interest of your career."
Thats just the way the entertainment idustry is. |

My mum never told me my cat died. She claims she tried but I think it was when I went AWOL for three months. I was gutted to go home and find she wasn't there. |

Actually, Mina is in her late 30's. It was first rumored a few weeks ago that she was 35...but then a reporter got the real dirt: she's 39 (which, if 'Korean age', means she could be either 37,38, or 39 depending on her birthday). |

Mina came back to Korea yesterday and found out about her fathers death when she turned on her cell-phone and read text messages offering condolences. What a horrible way to find out about your fathers death! Mina couldnt stop sobbing upon hearing the news because she was especially close to her dad. ... |
