Is yellow custard powder available here.

Cold weather is making me want to eat custard and bananas.

Birdseye if it's available.

Why not just make some from scratch?

Haha, you won't find Bird's Eye custard here - Bird's Eye stopped making food awhile back so I'm not even sure if it exists anymore. You can get custard powder in the Asian marts in Itaewon, but it's not very good.

What about Amrosia then? Not as good as Birds (eye sure it was eye) but pallatable.

How do you make custard from scratch.

Spot on. I knew I was misled somehow. Bird's Eye makes the frozen fish things - good 'ole Captain Bird's Eye. They're still going.

Never seen Ambrosia here either. I think those brands are bigger in the UK than in America, hence why they're not available here. I'd also be interested in learning how to make custard - I guess a search on google should do it.

It's quite easy to make but you'll never get the bright yellow stuff of your childhood without custard powder. Though this might well be a good thing. Also, you'll need an oven to make the apple and/or rhubarb crumble to go with it.

EDIT: Also, I'm not how easy it is to get hold of cornflour. I've not yet needed to use any whilst I've been here.

EDIT: All Bird's custard is is cornflour, powdered egg, vanilla flavouring and yellow food colouring anyway.

I have a large tub of bird's custard at home!! Looking forward to doing some baking (apple crumbles etc.) and eating custard again now that the weather is turning cold.

I'm going to guess 'no'. In fact, does any country except Britain actually eat rhubarb?

I think they will but only if it's frozen.
