So if the employer is the one to break the contract, ie. doesn't provide the medical insurance, pension, or flight home as stipulated in the contract, what kind of monies would I be expected to pay if I leave? And do I have to give the 2 months notice, if that is in the contract as well? Anyone know? Thanks for any help you guys can give!

What are your plans after leaving this school? Do you want to stay in Korea?

How about you just report them for this crap?

Another option is to demand they let you out with a letter of release and no fines, fees, etc. Tell them if they don't, you WILL report them.

Well, I do want to stay in Korea, but I'm not sure how that'll work with all the new regulations. Can I transfer my visa?

I had a good school last year, at least with money issues. I had no problems and so I'm not really sure what I would need to do.

Who do you report this kind of problem to?

Pension, labor board, tax office, etc. I'm sure someone else will provide you with the numbers shortly...people? Anyone? Smile

Ok tried the immigration number and the guy didn't speak English, just said sorry no and hung up on me...

so does anyone have another number I can report this school to? I've decided to leave but I don't want someone else to get suckered in either.

what about labor?
they speak english-e; last time I called they did anyway.

I think labor is the only place you can raise a stink, according to my friend who had trouble with his crapwon.

Thanks so much for the help!

One more quick question: If I have to do a "midnight run", can the school prevent me from getting an E2 visa and coming back in January? I hate confrontation, but would rather be honest and tell them I'm leaving and why I'm leaving, but if they ask for repayment of things should I just leave?
